Message to GYP Members

March 5, 2014

Hafa Adai Guam Young Professionals,

I'd like to thank everyone that came to our Open House mixer at Cars Plus in Maite, last Friday. I hope you were able to find out more about the GYP subcommittees and connect with other young professionals. I had a great time meeting so many of you, and I apologize if I wasn't able to introduce myself. I do look forward to meeting you all over the course of this next year.

It was a fantastic time, and I'd like to thank Cars Plus for their continued support, in hosting the mixer. Thank you also to Pika's Cafe for the amazing spread, and IWS and Mid Pac Distributors for providing an amazing bar. We've posted pictures from the event on the GYP Facebook page. Should you have any pictures from that night, please feel free to post them to the page as well.

Should you have any questions about the Subcommittees, please feel free to ask me or any of our committee chairs.

The committee chairpersons are as follows:

Be Inspired- Dee Perez- Damian & Charles Onedera
Be Influential- Tim Shepard

We're currently considering candidates for the chairperson of the Be Connected sub committee. This is a really fun and dynamic position which oversees networking, marketing, and membership recruitment for the Guam Young Professionals. I held the position for 2 years. I met a lot of people, and had a great time doing it. If you're interested, or have any questions about this position, let me know.

We are also looking for driven professionals who have at least 2 years of management experience or a professional degree to join the GYP Steering Committee.

If you are interested in getting more involved, or learning more, please contact me, or the Guam Chamber of Commerce at 472-6311. Our subcommittees will be holding their meetings soon, so please be on the lookout for those meeting announcements via email, twitter (GYPConnect) and on our Facebook page.

Thank you for your continued involvement in the Guam Young Professionals, and on behalf of the steering committee, we're looking forward to providing ways for our members to connect, inspire, and influence. We're always open to suggestions as well. Please add us on Facebook and LinkedIn, and follow us on Twitter, to stay connected.
