PEDRO PANGELINAN MARTINEZ
(1892 - 1967)

Founder and President of Pedro’s, which at its peak, comprised an ice plant, a cold storage, a mini-supermarket, a wholesale and retail business, a construction company, an automobile agency and two large farms providing beef and vegetables to the island. Among the many firsts Don Pedro Martinez established include the first manufacturing industry in Guam with the establishment of Pedro’s Ice Plant in 1921; established the Chrysler Automobile Agency in 1922 - selling Chrysler, Dodge, Desoto and Plymouth cars; and formed Pedro’s Construction Company in 1926 which built the Pan American Hotel - the first hotel on Guam.
